A quiet refuge on a busy day ...

Happy Canada Day Eh???

It's the 139th Anniversary of the founding of our Nation ... today in Afghanistan, our Troops will be able to mark the day with a donut and an iced capp thanks to the Tim Horton's outlet that has been taken over to give them a taste of home ...

Today, we also mark the anniversary of a massive, devestating battle that consumed thousands of Canadian lives at a place in France known today as "The Somme."

Both of these stand a vivid reminders who how precious and how valuable the peace we currently enjoy really is ... Today we can sit in the shade of our front yard and just enjoy the day without fear ...

Today let's celebrate the greatness of our nation and its myriad of diverse and wonderful ethnic backgrounds, from the First Peoples through to the most recent of immigrants ... it is the people together with the geography that makes this nations what it is - and when we say Canada it makes us ALL proud.

In Minnedosa today, out by the beach there is a HUGE party winding up to celebrate Canada Day ... like so many other community celebrations, there are activities for every age, the sun is supposed to shine, and the lake water is refreshing ... The only down side will be the crowds and the noise - but thankfully today Chippefield's is open and offering a quieter refuge from the busy-ness of the Lake side party ...

So, come Celebrate Canada Day - but stop by Chipperfield's to catch your breath and to have a quieter break ...

The specials today are:
Double Chocolate Mocha
White Macadamian Latte
Raspberry Cooler or Italian Soda
and today's flavoured coffee is:
Amaretto Almond

And at the end of the day - don't forget the fireworks at the dam ... it's a great way to end a great day ... See ya there ...
